Living in a small rural community keeps my mind focused on the simple things; one of those being the art of making quilts. I have enjoyed making quilts for the past seventeen years, teaching myself and learning from the more seasoned quilters in my life.
Fabric is both tactile and visual, making quilts one of the most comforting objects in our homes today. We celebrate birth, we comfort our sick, and we remember our past with this wonderful thing we call a "quilt". Either making a quilt that has been commissioned or one to give as a gift is simply a wonderful aspect in my life.
Since 2003 I have owned and operated a small quilting studio on Main Street, Dysart - Isabelle Originals. It started out as a small business in my home. But since I have moved "uptown", business has expanded to many local and recurring clients, as well as customers from all areas of the world.
With each custom quilt sold, a portion of the sales is donated to Heart Friends, a non-profit organization for families with children that have congenital heart defects. To learn more about Heart Friends, see the Heart Friends page on this website.
